MayrhofenOften selected by keen walkers as the place to marry, for if they so wish, couples may attend the ceremony at the Registrar’s Office dressed in their walking gear, get married, go off for a day walking in the mountains, returning in the evening for a celebratory meal on their own or with friends. Other couples follow the traditional route of taking coffee and cakes after the ceremony, with friends or relations, arrange a trip by minibus into the mountains in the afternoon and then enjoy a celebratory meal in the evening at their hotel.

In the centre, the wedding hall is located on the upper floor of the municipal office built in 1929 and refurbished in the summer of 2008. There is room for 40 persons - 30 seated - and is suitable for wheelchair users via the lift. This is the Registrar's normal wedding room so there is no charge for its use.

The wedding celebrations and accommodation for the couple, as well as their guests if required, could be at Alpendomizil Neuhaus. We have worked with Elisabeth and her team for many years, and they have always supplied a memorable event to suit the ideas and dreams of the bride and groom. The hotel is centrally situated and very popular with regular visitors to Mayrhofen, making early reservation essential.

Follow your civil ceremony at the Standesamt (Town Hall) with traditional "Kaffee und Kuchen" ( coffee and cakes) at Reitanlage Cafe/Restaurant Edhof in Fugen, lower down the Ziller Valley. Road transfer from, and back to Mayrhofen by minibus. Then an approximate two hours tour by horse and carriage through that Region including a 50 minutes break at the Edhof for coffee and cakes, or even, at lunchtime, a cold buffet, both included in the price of the tour. Full drinks service available at the Edhof at normal bar prices. On certain days, and at certain times, the transfer could be made one or both ways, using the Ziller Valley Railway - maybe even steam driven ! What a speciality !
