Seefeld-i-Tirol

Weddings in this famous alpine resort, 3000 feet above Innsbruck, are always conducted in the beautiful room at Rathaus (Town Hall) set aside for such purposes. This is in the centre of the village. Between May and October, a non-Catholic service for up to 40 people may be held in the famous Seekirchl. At other times, and for larger groups, Austria Direct can usually make arrangements for such a service to be held in the neighbouring village of Reith-bei-Seefeld, using an English-speaking priest from Innsbruck.

After the ceremony, take a sleigh ride in winter, or a buggy ride in summer, around the lake and the perimeter of the village. There is a choice of places to hold the wedding reception, or for the bridal pair to have a celebratory lunch or dinner, depending on individual tastes and number of guests.Perhaps an evening meal by candlelight, followed by a visit to the Casino? In Seefeld every option is available, as no packages are offered, making personal choice the first importance.

Part of the former monastry built in the 15th and 16th Century, this family run heritage hotel with its 6 banqueting rooms for 10 to 180 participants, is recommended for those who do not have to be 'too budget-minded'.
