There are several Registrars Offices in Vienna where more modest ceremonies may be held. They are all pleasant but formal, and many couples have been fully satisfied using these, and then ‘doing their own thing’ in the ‘city of dreams’! City Hall

Vienna City HallVienna City Hall is situated on Ringstrasse opposite the famous Burgtheater, and was completed in 1883. It is built in Neo-Gothic style, has seven courtyards,1575 rooms and its corridors have a total length of more than 2.5 kilometres. Vienna City Hall houses the office of the Mayor of Vienna, serves as a location for conferences and magnificent festivals and is one of Vienna's most impressive sights.

You can book the Stone Hall II for your wedding!

The ceremony lasts for about 20 minutes but you have the use of the hall for 90 minutes, one third of which is taken up with the preparation of the room.

You can hold a champagne reception in front of the Stone Hall II. On request, up to 34 tables will be supplied free of charge.

Wedding times are: Monday to Friday: usually at 4.30.p.m.
                                     Saturdays (except holidays) at 10.00.a.m.,12 noon or 2.00.p.m.

There is accommodation for up to 50 persons seated and a further 20/30 persons standing.

Wedding celebratory meals may be organised for lunchtime or evening at the Rathauskeller Restaurant, adjoining the City Hall.

Ship Wedding in Vienna

"Schlögen"The legendary river running through Vienna, which was even set to music and is Europe's second largest river: the beautiful blue River Danube with its magnificent water meadows. Weddings are held aboard the ship "Schlögen" which  presents the natural landscape of the River Danube to you all year round sailing past Vienna's most impressive building such as the Millennium Tower, the Danube Tower and the United Nations headquarters as well as past Danube Island, one of Vienna's largest and most important leisure areas.

Vintage Tram

The tram is one of Vienna's most distinctive claims to fame. Horse-drawn buses, i.e. horse-drawn carriages carrying several people, have been customary since Vintage Tram1815. Only the removal of the city wall and moat from 1857 to 1865 and the erection of Ringstrasse provided for Vienna's first single-line horse-drawn tram which was used for public transportation and was the forerunner of today's tram.

You can book the carriages of a vintage tram for your dream wedding. The wedding ceremony is held in front of the beautiful Otto Wagner Pavilion near Karlsplatz. The vintage tram will then take you to any place you wish in Vienna which can be reached by tram.

Butterfly House

The Butterfly House, situated in the Burggarten park, the garden of the former Imperial Palace and one of the imperial private gardens, has an area of 3800 square metres and is one of Europe's most Butterfly House, Viennabeautiful gardens and has been open to the public since 1919. The Palmenhaus,128 metres long and erected in 1822, houses the Butterfly House since 1997, which is 280 square metres, has a temperature of approximately 26 degrees and 80% humidity, and is home to hundreds of exotic butterflies. Ceremonies may be held here - room for 50 persons standing - and may be followed by a champagne or sparkling wine reception.

The Palmenhaus Restaurant, with modern bar and international cuisine, is available for receptions to follow the ceremony if required.
